On February 14th, a lot of classes (including mine) had the pleasurable experience of going to Teramo and watch the play which was an adaption of the novel written in 1891: The Picture Of Dorian Gray.
It was an excellent play, a powerful mixture of immorality and excessive pursuit of pleasure by the main character, both of them principal features of Aestheticism.
The actors were highly professional English native speakers, and, if the play had a weakness, it was that the beginning was a little bit slow to get moving, although this is just my personal opinion.
However, the second half proved how the acting from all the members of the cast was so real, that you could feel as if you were watching a film.
The set was also simple, but effective, and the costumes were just right.
To sum it up, I’d highly recommend going to watch this play, because it helps you to have a much clearer idea of how all the events took place.

On 14th February 2018 the classes 4A, 4B, 4H, 5A, 5B, 5C, 5F, 5I, 5M of Liceo Scientifico A.Bafile had the opportunity to see the performance "The Picture of Dorian Gray" by Oscar Wilde at Teramo playhouse.
Before the play the teachers had prepared the students with reading passages and debates about the themes of the play to better understand the script.
The classes left L'Aquila at 7:45 a.m. and the show began at 9:30. "The picture of Dorian Gray" by Palkettostage (starring Jason Farries) was a modern remake of the famous Oscar Wilde novel using hi-tech projectors, modern music and beautiful costumes. The actors were mother tongue; they rehearsed the play for several weeks in London before the opening performance in Italy. We are all grateful for the opportunity the school has given to us: it was an important occasion to improve our competence in English. At the end of the show, we asked the actors some questions about the preparation of the show, general information about their life and their thoughts about the play; they were very happy to answer.
We hope to continue this experience in the years to come and we expect that all the new students joining our school will have the same opportunity we had.
